Recent Productions
Below are photographs of recent productions in both professional and academic settings. These photographs are also found on my website, and all design credits will be listed. With each, I will highlight challenges offered by that production, skills gained or strengthened, and the type of production. The productions are listed as most recent at the top.

The Pride is a play revolving around the parallel love stories of Phillip and Oliver - one set in 1958 and one set in 2008. This was the first show in which I acted officially as a Mentor instead of a Production Manager or Production Stage Manager. My job entailed teaching an upcoming Stage Manager the tools of the trade, as well as being on hand in any situation for rehearsals. I was often present at rehearsals and meetings, as well as technical rehearsals and performances, to teach how to create paperwork, proper protocols in calling a break, how to call a show, and the creation of a prompt book.

16 Winters, or The Bear's Tale was commissioned by the American Shakespeare Center at Blackfriar's Playhouse as part of a project called Shakespeare's New Contemporaries. Playwrights are invited to create a contemporary play that acts in conversation to Shakespeare's plays. 16 Winters is in conversation to A Winter's Tale, taking place during the 16 year gap in the play. I acted as the Stage Manager for a workshop process partnership with James Madison University and the American Shakespeare Center which performed as a staged reading at Blackfriar's Playhouse. A full production of the play will be happening in their spring season.

I worked with 36 actors and crew members to keep transitions of this show smooth. The set was comprised of three movable walls and two elements that would fly in and out. There were ten fights choreographed in total for this production, and roughly 15 weapons were used as well. Calling this show, coordinating scene changes, and keeping track of quick changes was a challenge I enjoyed having.

This show had a few interesting challenges. I had to be prepared to retrieve soccer balls from the audience at any given moment, as well as having to actively train my assistant in basic first aid in case any injuries were sustained during the play and an actor had to leave the set. This show was physically demanding on the actors as well as being incredibly fast paced with the majority of the dialogue overlapping.

Another challenge was incorporating the stretches into blocking pages, and running reviews of the stretches. I had to make sure that the names of the stretches were accurate, but keep track of the slang created by the actors to remember their own stretches.

Upcoming Events & Future Projects

The Feast
Directed by Andrew Wantula
January, 2020
At James Madison University, I worked in a variety of settings, frequently as a Stage Manager and Dramaturg. For the upcoming Studio Theatre production of The Feast by Cory Finley, I will be acting as the Dramaturg Mentor. I will be aiding in research for the show, helping problem-solve any dramaturgical issues, and acting as an extra set of eyes for the production in a dramaturgical sense.

Study Group
Directed by Cooper McConnell Shaw
February, 2020
I will be acting as Stage Manager for the upcoming production of Study Group, an original by play by Maddie Kovach. For this production, of which I originally served as the Dramaturg, I will be helping facilitate auditions & callbacks, working with the directing team & playwright on major revisions of the script, coordinating updates with the cast & production team, and working to best serve the production.

Graduation from James Madison University
May 9th, 2020
On May 9th, 2020, I will be graduating from the College of Visual and Performing Arts School of Theatre and Dance with a degree in Theatre (concentration in Theatre Studies). I will also be graduating with a degree from the College of Arts and Letters School of Communication Studies with a degree in Communication Studies (concentration in Interpersonal Communication).
CV & Resumes
I have lived in grown up in Virginia for all of my life, but I have had multiple opportunities to study abroad and travel around the world. Besides having a passion for theatre, I am an active scholar of world mythology, a collector of bad puns, and a deep love of old horror movies. I am a student at James Madison University pursuing degrees in Theatre and Communication (graduation in 2020). I have been Stage Managing for seven years in both Professional and Academic settings.

Below are links to my CV, Business, and Theatrical Resumes. My Theatrical Resume lists recent shows and directors I have worked with, while my Business Resume lists experiences I had in a broader sense, as well as experiences

One of the first professional shows I ever saw was the touring revival of Grease in 2009. When asked my opinion on the show, I said it was the worst thing I had ever seen; and yet, that show stays with me in every production I have worked on, and all I will work on in the future.
Here I was, a thirteen year old girl (thinking she knew more about the world than I did) who, for the first time in my life, saw Jan [played by Bridie Carroll] - a woman who looked like me. I got to see Bridie working on stage, happy and healthy despite every other voice in my head screaming that was never in store for me. I thought she was the greatest woman in the world.
That is theatre's greatest strength - acting as a mode of representation that other modern media cannot. Theatre, at its best, provides hope for those marginalized by modern media. When I am working in theatre, I make a point to have all voices be heard, regardless of whether or not they are present in the room.

I want to continue working in theatre because this is the way I can best help heal and help others. I want to work on a show, knowing that one day, a child will watch what I've helped create and find hope for themelves.
